Greenburgh is located in lower Westchester County and covers 36.2 square miles comprised of the Unincorporated Area and 7 villages. Hartsdale is a Hamlet within the Unincorporated Area of Greenburgh. The Unincorporated Area is governed by a Town Board made up of the Supervisor and four Board Members. Each Village has its own Mayor and governance structure. Greenburgh offers a wide variety of neighborhoods and lifestyles. It’s location and proximity to New York City makes it an attractive destination for shopping, dining and living.

Educational Facilities


The Town of Greenburgh is served by one of the following school districts...depending on location within the town:
Ardsley Union Free School District, Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District, Edgemont Union Free School District, Elmsford Union Free School District, Greenburgh Central School District #7, Hastings Union Free School District, Irvington Union Free School District, Public Schools of the Tarrytowns. There are also several Private and Parochial facilities available to those families desiring other than public education. All children in the district, whether they attend public schools or not, are eligible to participate in summer school programs organized by their Boards of Education and in recreation programs conducted in cooperation with the Town of Greenburgh Recreation Commission. A few districts also provide adult education courses open to all residents.
